Visiting Hours


During entry to Meşher, you will be required to present a vaccination certificate that confirms a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or a negative PCR test result obtained within the last 48 hours. To avoid queuing, we kindly ask you to prepare your vaccination certificate from the Hayat Eve Sığar (HES) application prior to your visit.

Closed on Mondays, public holidays, and New Year's Day (1st January).

Safety Measures and Guidelines for A Safer Visit

  • Meşher, will be open for visits between from Tuesday through Sunday between 11.00–18.00 as required by the health measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Long Friday” will not be applicable during this period.
  • All visitors are required to wear masks during their visit. Visitors are responsible for keeping masks with them.
  • Your temperature will be checked upon arrival. If you have a fever (37.5°C and above) and/or symptoms such as cough, runny nose, or shortness of breath, please seek medical attention as soon as possible. We look forward to welcoming you back at Meşher once you are healthy again.
  • Please maintain a social distance (1,5 meters at least) and hand hygiene. No-contact hand sanitizer dispensers are placed on each floor.
  • The maximum number of people allowed into the building at one time is limited to 90. Breakdown of maximum number of people allowed into the exhibition spaces are below:

    Galleries 0 and 1: 37
    Gallery 2: 16
    Info and book store: 3
  • Cloakroom and locker services will be halted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Maximum 2 persons are allowed to use the visitor elevator. You are recommended to use the elevator as less as possible, preferably when going up.
  • Our building is regularly sterilized using nanosilver ion technology.
  • There is a hygienic disinfecting mat in the entrance.
  • Highest level of hygiene is ensured in common spaces you can access without contact with daily cleaning.
  • 100% fresh air circulation is provided with disinfectant filters in our building’s air conditioning and ventilation systems.
  • Plexiglass benches are placed for safe interaction at service points.
  • You are advised to use contactless credit/debit cards when buying books.
  • Please observe the signage in the building and the remarks of our staff.

An approximately 10-minute walk from the Beyoğlu Tepebaşı bus stop.


An approximately 10-minute walk from the Istiklal Street exit of the Şişhane metro station.


Two carriages run between Beyoğlu and Karaköy, every 6 minutes.

Every 20 minutes.


Meşher is located at Istiklal Street, which is a pedestrian area. You can park your car at Ispark areas at the Asmalı Mescit neighborhood, Meşrutiye Street, or in the private car parks around the area.

Guided Tours

Free guided tours (in Turkish) are held twice every wednesday and saturday at 12.30 and 16.00.
The tours are offered to groups of minimum 4 and maximum 10 participants.
Guided tours must be reserved in advance.

Smoking and consumption of food and beverage is not allowed in the galleries.
Non-professional photo and video shooting, restricted to personal use, is allowed on the premises. Photographs must be taken without the use of flash, tripod, and selfie stick. Copying, distribution, sale, and sharing of the images, except for personal use, are subject to prior written permission by Meşher.
